Alexander Currin
Alex Currin has been working with stringed instruments from the age of 17, with a keen interest in setting up every instrument to sound and play as well as possible. After graduating from the Violin Making School of America in 2015, he worked with Joseph Curtin on the design and construction of traditional and “Ultralight” violins and violas.
As a regular participant in the Oberlin Acoustics Workshops put on by the Violin Society of America, he’s collaborated on acoustic research, and has helped to further modern makers’ understanding of the physics of the violin.

Rebecca Kaltz
Mrs. Kaltz is known as a dedicated performer and teacher. Rebecca has been actively teaching violin lessons since 2001, and received her Bachelors degree in Violin performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She also did two years of graduate work with Piotr Milewski there as well.
For her Suzuki pedagogy training, Rebecca studied with both Pat D’Ercole, Martha Shackford, Linda Fiore, Mark Mutter and Terry Durbin. She also has extensive experience playing for opera and musical theatre genres, as well as recording studio experience with various types of music such as rock, jazz, Celtic and folk. She has played with many local orchestras in the area including the Saginaw Bay, Battle Creek, Muskegon, Livonia, Jackson,Rochester, Kalamazoo, Adrian, Lansing, Ann Arbor and the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestras.
Currently she maintains a private studio in Ann Arbor and Chelsea, Michigan. Other projects include managing and performing with the Horizon String Quartet, www.horizonstringquartet.com

Originally from Vancouver, Washington, Rebecca enjoys hiking in the great outdoors, yoga, pilates, coffee, reading, and spending time with her friends and family- husband Will, and two children Kaeli, 8 and Liam 2.5, in Chelsea, Michigan.

Steve McCann
Steve McCann became interested in instrument making and repair while finishing a degree in Applied Arts at Iowa State University where he developed a love of fine woodworking. He then worked at the fine violin shop of Bein and Fushi in Chicago and was trained there in instrument repair and restoration. After working in Chicago and then Pittsburgh, Steve then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan and has worked there at the Guarneri House for many years. While mainly doing repairs and restorations while working at these shops he has also found time to make instruments. As well as learning from the fine instruments he has seen through the years Steve has also been able to work with some great violinmaking teachers including Karl Roy and Carleen Hutchins. He also has had the opportunity to participate in the VSA Oberlin violin workshops where many of the best makers in the world gather to learn from each other.

Bronwyn Haggerty
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Bronwyn Hagerty has enjoyed a versatile career as a cellist, conductor, and librarian throughout the United States. She has garnered multiple awards for her solo and chamber music playing, as a two-time winner of the Silberman Chamber Music Competition, and second prize winner for the Beatrice Herrmann Young Artist Competition. As an orchestral librarian, she has interned with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and Tanglewood Music Center; and currently holds the position of Orchestra & Training Programs Librarian with the Detroit Symphony. Bronwyn received her Bachelor’s degree in cello performance from the University of Puget Sound under David Requiro, and a Master’s degree and Advanced Music Studies certificate in cello from Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied under Anne Martindale Williams. She currently resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and enjoys teaching and freelancing in the exuberant orchestral music scene of Southeast Michigan.
